With eSignature via Gannon Online, you can capture handwritten signatures securely in Chrome and Edge browsers using Topaz signature pads. This document provides instructions on installing Topaz drivers and software to your computer.
The eSignature feature in Gannon can be used with web pages running in the latest Chrome and Edge browsers installed on Windows 7/8.1/10 32-bit operating systems.
For Chrome:
Using eSignature via Gannon in Chrome requires two steps. First, SigPlusExtLite from Topaz must be installed directly on the PC. Then, the SigPlusExtLite Extension must be installed from the Chrome Webstore.
To install SigPlusExtLite:
Look on the back of your signature pad, and find the model number (e.g., T-LBK460-HSB-R). Then, select the correct option below:
- If your signature pad model number ends in -B-R, -HSB-R, or -BHSB-R, download and save SigPlusExtLite to your computer’s desktop from the following link:

Click on the SigPlusExtLite.exe installer and follow the steps in the installer.
- If your signature pad model number ends in -BSB-R or -BBSB-R, download and save SigPlusExtLite to your computer’s desktop from the following link:

Click on the SigPlusExtLite.exe installer and follow the steps in the installer.
To install the Topaz SigPlusExtLite Chrome Extension:
- Start the Chrome Browser.
- Go to the Topaz SigPlusExtLite Background Extension page by navigating to the URL:

- On the opened page, click the + ADD TO CHROME button on the top right.
- Click on the Add Extension button in the confirmation dialog that appears.
Finally, Run the Sample Web Page
After the SigPlusExtLite software is installed and the signature pad is connected to the PC, launch Chrome and navigate to the following page:

Click on the Sign button, and the signing window will appear. Sign on your signature pad. To accept the signature, click the green checkmark icon. To clear the signing window and re-sign, click the red X. To cancel, click the red circle with the X.
For Edge:
With the current restrictions on providing extensions through the Microsoft Store, the Edge extension has to be installed offline.
To install SigPlusExtLite:
Look on the back of your signature pad, and find the model number (e.g., T-LBK460-HSB-R). Then, select the correct option below:
- If your signature pad model number ends in -B-R, -HSB-R, or -BHSB-R, download and save SigPlusExtLite to your computer’s desktop from the following link:

- If your signature pad model number ends in -BSB-R or -BBSB-R, download and save SigPlusExtLite to your computer’s desktop from the following link:

Click on the SigPlusExtLite.exe installer and follow the steps in the installer.
To install SigPlusExtLite Edge Certificate and Package:
Download and save the executable to your computer from the following link:
www.topazsystems.com/software/SigPlusExtLiteEdge.exe
Then, follow the steps in the installer. This executable installs the SigPlusExtLite Edge Certificate and Package that contains the needed drivers and software through Edge required for communicating with your Topaz signature pad.
Finally, Run the Sample Web Page
After the SigPlusExtLite software is installed and the signature pad is connected to the PC, launch Chrome and navigate to the following page:

Click on the Sign button, and the signing window will appear. Sign on your signature pad. To accept the signature, click the green checkmark icon. To clear the signing window and re-sign, click the red X. To cancel, click the red circle with the X.
Signing with the Signature Pad in Gannon:
After the installations of the driver and extension are completed, do the following while inside a return to have the taxpayer sign using the signature pad.
- With the return completed, select the eSignature button along the top portion of the screen.
- Under the taxpayer’s name, select On Preparer’s Device for “How will the taxpayer sign?” (an email will be required for this step) and select Submit. The ERO & preparer can do the same at this time if they so choose.
- Next, click on the Sign Now option that appears.
- The terms for DocuSign will need to be agreed to by checking the box. Afterward, select the yellow Start button on the left of the form.
- This will take you to the first signing field. Select the Sign This will bring up a window with three options for signing styles. Select the Use Signature Pad option in the middle of the window to use the signature pad. Selecting this should automatically open the signing window to have the client sign. Once the signature is captured, click the green checkmark button to save the signature for signing.
